Greece sells 3-month bills, yield tops 4%

The Greek government on Tuesday sold 1.625 billion euros ($2.3 billion) of 13-week Treasury bills, but saw the yield jump to more than 4%, news reports said. The yield rose to 4.1%, up from 3.85% in an auction on Feb. 15, Reuters reported. Demand exceeded supply 3.45 times. The rise in yield comes amid speculation Greece will soon seek to restructure its debt. Government officials have denied such a move is in the works.
