On Tuesday, the International Monetary Fund downgraded its forecast for global and UK growth this year and next. On the Today programme the following day, I outlined what the IMF had said and the implications of this. Also on the programme, Sir John Gieve, former deputy governor of the Bank of England, expressed what he made of the downgrade.
